Grand Auditorium Body Construction & Tonewoods

The Vintage VGA990N is based on the multi-layer Grand Auditorium Cutaway body shape, which offers an ideal balance between the sound projection of a Dreadnought and the clarity of a Folk body. The solid Sitka spruce top ensures a wide dynamic range and a fast attack, while the mahogany back and sides enhance the low-mid frequencies, adding warmth to the tone. The integrated cutaway provides comfortable access to the higher frets.

Neck, Fretboard & Accessories

The mahogany neck offers a solid feel and comfort when playing chords and solo lines. The Lignum Rosa fingerboard features 20 frets, providing a smooth playing surface and excellent wear resistance. The compensated saddle ensures accurate intonation along the scale, while the chrome-plated die-cast tuning machines provide smooth adjustment and tuning stability.

Electronic Preamp System & Tuner

For connecting to an amplifier, mixer or PA system, the guitar is equipped with Vintage’s built-in preamp system. The under-saddle pickup faithfully captures the body’s acoustic vibrations, while the preamp features a 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble), a volume control and a phase switch to suppress acoustic feedback. It also includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner with an easy-to-read display.
