Maestri Parva staplers used to be the best-known staplers. They did their job, were sturdy, and lasted for years and years... Unfortunately, something has changed in their manufacture over the past few years, and although they all look the same, they are now absolutely terrible and a waste of money—especially since they are also a somewhat expensive brand. They jam the staples, chew them up, you can’t get your work done, and you waste time having to open the stapler—which is not at all easy if it has chewed up a staple—remove the mangled staple, and get it working again.
Given that they used to be flawless, they must have changed something in the internal mechanism, probably making the parts of the mechanism ever so slightly thinner, with the result I described.
I had bought three of them from a stationery shop, separately, each one on its own, thinking I’d just gotten a defective one... but all three are like this... they’re junk now. And plenty of users confirm this.
I asked AI about it, and it replied—I’m quoting: “Unfortunately, in recent years they changed the metal alloys and their production standards (outsourcing/cheaper materials), causing the driver to bend easily or the metal strips to have improper tolerances, which leads to constant jams (‘chewing’ the staples).”

I threw them away and bought another brand, which is good and flawless. I’ll mention it—it’s called Metron—to help you avoid throwing your money away.

Of course, there may be other good brands too, but I don’t know them, and the market is awash with bad Chinese staplers that chew up staples and don’t do their job.
