I have noticed that it happens when the computer is loading and data is being downloaded on the MacBook's wifi.     I have it on a MacBook Air 2020 with 4k 60hz on an LG 34WL650 34" monitor. When I tried it on an ACER NITRO 5, it said there was a problem with the USB-C connection and it didn't display any image. It probably doesn't support DP. I will investigate further and update if necessary.
