Description

The PERCEPTION 220 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, which can easily meet the needs of a modern home studio and radio broadcasting. It features a one-inch diaphragm bearing the manufacturing seal of AKG, and an electronic circuit that, unlike the general trend in microphones of this price category, includes a discrete transformer. The combination of these features makes the PERCEPTION 220 behave and sound like a much more expensive microphone.

It has a -20dB pad switch and a low-frequency cut filter switch. These features make the PERCEPTION 220 tolerant to very high sound pressure levels (155 dB SPL), which allows the microphone to be used with electric instrument amplifiers and for covering concerts where sound pressures are high.
