Description

The texts in this volume, first published between 1998 and 2008, are the nostalgic testimony, expressed in vivid language, of the passionate Andrian Antonis Polemis (1925-2012).

He lived on the island all his life, a printer and merchant, a stationery shop owner and newspaper agent, a privileged heir of two rich family traditions full of memories: the shipowners Polemis from Stenies and the Karavoulani from Chora, printers and merchants.

In the column articles of this collection, drawing inspiration mainly from "The Voice of Andros," the newspaper published in the early post-war years at the family printing house, he combines reflections on the past with a curious and accommodating contemplation of the rapidly changing world around him.
