I am changing the rating to 2 stars from 4 (I would give 1 but I am leaving it at two, as a favor, due to unpredictable behavior). I ordered the same item again (24/07/2025) after the first one failed, to confirm whether the malfunction was random. From the installation date, around 26/07/2025, it was used very little and occasionally I kept it active with a fast draft print about once a week, just in case it dried up (so the cartridge is almost full – more on that below). Tonight when I needed to print, it was not recognized, whereas previous times there was no problem (a genuine HP one that hadn’t yet gone to recycling saved me). Also, although it says it is XL, during installation, when alignment and printer report printing took place, the level was not full but exactly at half. I will not choose it again. I will prefer to buy a genuine one, even if expensive, because overall it turns out more expensive to buy compatibles, which in the end leave me stranded, and I will look to change printer (maybe an inkjet with tanks) that has genuine consumables at a good price.

It is often not recognized by the printer after printing in fast draft or normal (when the head moves quickly) and I need to remove and reinsert it, sometimes more than once. Maybe it’s random (it’s the first time I buy it) and there won’t be an issue with the next one. It could also be the printer’s fault (HP Officejet 4500 Desktop), which I’ve had for years and maybe something in the connection has loosened, I don’t know. I would buy it again though.
