This edition is significantly updated. The chapters referring to the historical forms of the modern state, such as the absolutist, authoritarian, totalitarian, or that of the social rule of law, have been removed, as well as the chapter concerning the distinctions of the political regime according to Herodotus and Aristotle.
Two new chapters have been added. One extensive chapter in which governmental systems and their distinctions are analyzed historically and comparatively. Here, the analysis focuses primarily on the parliamentary system, of which various variations and contemporary transformations are generally presented.
Finally, in the last chapter, the constitutional declaration in Article 1, paragraph 1 of the form of the regime as `presidential parliamentary democracy` is examined briefly and interpreted.
Otherwise, the purpose of the book remains the same, educational and research-oriented. I hope that in the forthcoming and final edition the scheduled material will be completed with the addition of the concise study of forms of the current regime, the democratic, representative, parliamentary, and presidential.
