Purchase date 20/03/2024. Purchase price: 139 Euros. Use: Video Editing / Movie Playback. Manufacturing date: December 2023. Easy assembly of the stand. There is a page with assembly instructions for the stand inside the packaging. The activation of the factory warranty had already been done by Dell. I downloaded from Dell's website (https://www.dell.com/support/home/el-gr/product-support/product/dell-s2421hn-monitor/drivers) and installed the Dell Display Manager application, which includes all the screen settings and eliminates the need to press the plastic menu buttons in the bottom right corner of the screen, which I avoid using to prevent them from breaking quickly due to use. The default factory color settings of the screen need adjustment. At first glance, the white color appears off-white. I used the 'Display Color Calibration' of Windows 10 (Settings > System > Display > Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties on screen 1), which corrected the 'off-white' to a beautiful realistic white color. Beautiful design, fast response, stunning clarity, wide viewing angle. It does not strain the eyes. The low blue light emission (Comfort View) is absent from the default settings because it is already integrated into the hardware of the screen, for those who are looking for it and cannot find it in the settings menu. BECAUSE upgraded Dell screens manufactured from January 2022 onwards incorporate Comfort View into their hardware. It does not have built-in speakers, but it has an audio output. Excellent screen!

I received it today at 14:30. Therefore, I will share my first impressions, which are mostly positive. This product is undoubtedly worthy of all the positive reviews here on Skroutz platform, as well as abroad, where I almost always check for other consumers' thoughts before making a purchase.

2. IMAGE QUALITY - 9/10 (Only because I have a slight comparison with QHD/4K) Really good. Absolutely no complaints. Viewing angles, as you can see from the photos I uploaded, are perfectly satisfactory. So far, I haven't noticed any lag or even the slightest delay in playing any content, application, or work.

3. BUILD QUALITY - 8/10 From the front, it gives the impression of a much more expensive product. Especially its base is quite heavy and sturdy and gives no reason for concern about holding the screen. However, holding the material from the back gives the feeling of a slightly cheap plastic. Personally, I don't mind that at all. Priority for me is the appearance from the front, the durability of the construction, and the overall performance in image quality. Another reason for my rating is the fact that I received the screen with a clip from the back cover already broken. I don't consider it a serious reason for any complaint or any other action on my part since the cover fits and remains in place.

4. DESIGN - 10/10 I am absolutely satisfied with what I received and I am happy that it exceeds, at least visually, what I saw in the photos. I bought it with the idea of putting it on the wall at some point, but it is so beautiful on its manicured base that I don't think I will do it soon. There is the possibility of cable management in the nicely designed hole in the support collar.

5. ASSEMBLY AND EASE OF USE - 10/10 "Smooth as butter" !!!

In conclusion, I am very satisfied after a quite time-consuming two-week search in the plethora of options in this category of FHD-IPS under €150. The options were close to fifty, and I am sure that this particular screen, due to the great relationship it offers between quality and price, easily ranks among the top five that one could buy. I will come back after a few months of use for additional comments and thoughts.

I have at home + storage/workshop, two 24-inch LG monitors (TN) 5ms. Both are old, 10 and 12 years, but they work perfectly. The reason I wanted a change is that on the "upper" monitor (home), my little one sits ... and plays, so I thought to get him something better (IPS Panel).

The screen is flawless in all respects at first glance. Flawless quality, considering its price, very good and stable support base, easy menu for someone who for some reason tweaks it constantly ... and beautiful!!!

Let me first say that before the purchase, I was concerned about its color. Silver support base, and "sugar-silver" back of the monitor. I was looking for a classic black one. However, I couldn't find anything with two HDMI and Audio Out with a "compact" base at this price. I can inform you that the color is amazing. So my hesitation was overcome. Viewing angles ... just fine.

Now. Because I am a person who "looks into it more," I will say that in a direct comparison with the old monitor at the same resolution, the image is ... the same. This is not derogatory, since the previous one was replaced for another reason, and not because it did not have good display quality. All of this (comparative) of course, as long as you bring it to the same settings (brightness, contrast, etc.).

The best setting (personally) in the Preset Modes is RTS. Strong contrast that "reduces" the known problem of IPS panels (Contrast & Backlight Bleeding?). Since we mentioned the specific situation above ... I also did a simple (parallel) comparative test with the old monitor. I set the simple screensaver of Win10, which displays the time and the rest of the panel is black. Unfortunately, on this Dell, the rest of the panel looked illuminated. While the adjacent screen (old LG with TN Panel) appeared almost black. This specific Dell fails to display black. Especially with low room lighting ... even worse, where it becomes intense and probably annoying.

So, for someone who does image/color editing in a low-light environment ... it might not be the best. While the other colors are displayed perfectly and realistically, black appears as dark gray. Of course, if the room lighting is intense or at least normal, the problem "disappears" (it’s simply not visible/intense).

So this is the ONLY disadvantage of this monitor. And it’s probably not a disadvantage of the monitor itself, but of the category of panels it belongs to (IPS). At least for the price category we are talking about/belong to. An IPS monitor that costs €400, this specific problem is limited and does not bother. I will certainly give it 5 stars because for the majority of users, under normal lighting conditions, what I mentioned is ... "small print."

I see that its current price is €245!!! At this price, it is definitely not worth it. I bought it about 2 years ago for €125. For that amount, it is perfect.

Replaced a 20-inch LG that gave up after years of heavy use. The difference is significant in every aspect. The 75Hz refresh rate is very useful for long hours of use. I'm using it with a cheap nVidia GeForce GT710.
I don't have an opinion on gaming because I don't have time to play, but I do have an opinion on using it as a monitor for office applications and image editing. Especially in image editing, after a small adjustment through the Windows monitor calibration that was verified with the use of other similar applications.
With a slight decrease in brightness and a little adjustment in calibration, white is white and not off-white. Black is also very good, as well as the intermediate tones from white to black. No adjustment was needed for colors, although there is the option for independent adjustment through the menu.
The quality of the colors in one word: Precise.
Additionally, they are comfortable to use, never oversaturated, and so far no one has complained about them (in the field of photography). It's important for me that the panel is matte and without reflections.
I also watched some movies (in HD resolution) of various ages and black and white ones where it shows that it manages just fine, with clarity and without causing eye strain.
The menu is accessed from the bottom right corner of the panel and the settings are adjusted with four small buttons.
Assembly is very easy and the base is stable. Only the tilt forward (5 degrees) and backward (21 degrees) can be adjusted, and there is the option of wall mounting. An HDMI cable is included in the package.
For the money and the offered features, it's a very good purchase.
