Description

Description

The book "My Theory" is a method of learning and teaching Music, aiming to approach Theory through musical practice and experience. It is addressed to students aged 7-8 and above. The content of the book is divided into three volumes, based on the curriculum for each class in Greek Conservatories and Music Schools.

  • The 1st volume includes Theory A (which, for teaching purposes, is divided into Pre-Theory and Theory A'),
  • the 2nd volume includes Theory B,
  • and the 3rd volume includes Theory C.

There is also a book for the student and a book for the teacher. The thematic series is based on the pedagogical principle: the student's "ability" can coincide with their "knowledge" during their studies, in order to achieve a balance between theoretical knowledge and musical skills and abilities of the student.

This book is the alphabet of Music Theory, as the student comes into contact with symbols and concepts of Music for the first time, just like in their early school years with letters and concepts of Language. Thus, they learn music reading and writing, while also developing their listening skills, in a way that allows them to immediately perceive and understand the elements of Theory, which form the basis of Music Education.

The use of the nouns "the student" and "the teacher" is omitted within this book solely due to space constraints. Therefore, the masculine nouns "the student" and "the teacher" also imply the feminine gender from now on.
