▫️A few words about the book: "The Secret History" is a story about friendships and how wrong everything can go within a group of friends. Our story follows Richard, a student who ends up becoming a member of an elite group of classics students. But beyond the academic prestige, many secrets, murders, and a strange dynamic are hidden that begins to consume him.
▪️Style/Writing: The book is quite heavy and atmospheric, clearly the definition of Dark Academia. It has a very slow plot (something that personally tired me a bit), long chapters, and descriptions. It’s definitely not one of those books you’ll read quickly!
▫️Why I liked it: First of all, I love dark academia books! The whole atmosphere captivates me, and after the middle of the book, the plot started to move even faster, resulting in the tension that was missing at the beginning.
▪️Why you should read it: Because it is considered one of the most classic books you should read at some point in your life. You may not like it due to its length and the fact that it’s slow, but it’s worth knowing the plot as it will definitely come up in some bookish discussion!
