Description

Description

It is well known that 4-5% of school-aged children face difficulties in adapting and in their social behavior at school and at home. These difficulties negatively affect their personal, social, and academic life and development, and often disrupt the life and work of the classroom, the school, and the family.

It is therefore clear that they must be addressed as an immediate priority, with combined and systematic efforts from the state, the school, educators, and parents. Until recently, many believed that behavioral problems are inherent to the child and nothing can change them. As a result, children with behavioral issues were often dealt with through punitive measures or pushed to the margins of the classroom, school, and society.

Today, we have methods, techniques, and approaches available that educators and parents can use to help children change their undesirable behaviors. This book discusses topics and provides answers regarding:

a. The concepts and definitions related to behavior.
b. The causal factors.
c. The assessment of children and the evaluation of their problems.
d. The education of children with behavioral issues.
e. The prevention of behavioral problems.
f. The techniques, strategies, and methods recommended for addressing behavioral issues.
g. The way and process of designing and implementing programs and interventions for changing undesirable behavior.

Moreover, efforts are made to connect theoretical knowledge with practice by describing real cases of students who have been addressed in the school setting and have been systematically recorded over the last fifteen years or so.
