The Ladybird Readers series is an ELT reading series for children learning English as a foreign or second language. The series includes traditional fairy tales, beloved characters, contemporary stories, and non-fiction - featuring heroes like Spot, Peppa Pig, and Peter Rabbit, as well as classic authors such as Roald Dahl. Recommended for children aged 3-11, the eight levels of the Ladybird Readers series follow the CEFR framework (Pre-A1 to A2+) and include additional activities that develop essential skills and provide preparation for Cambridge English exams. Each book is Lexile measured and introduces key vocabulary and character names at the beginning of each reading. The books are written by language education specialists and include access to online audio, supportive activities, and educational resources such as role-plays, phrase cards, and lesson plans.

The The Talent Show, a level 3 reading, is A1+ on the CEFR scale and supports YLE Movers exams. The larger text consists of sentences with up to three clauses, some future tense expressions, comparisons, contractions, and relative clauses. The A-Stars played music, and the Zigzags danced. Both wanted to win the Harmony School Talent Show!
