The three-volume series Examination Topics for the Certification of Greek Language Proficiency 2015-2018 aims to familiarize candidates with the structure of the Greek Language Proficiency Exams, which since 2011 follow the six-level scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The material in each volume offers opportunities for practical exercises in the skills required to obtain the Greek Language Proficiency Certificate at each level and can be used as a teaching tool either in the classroom or for self-study.
This volume concerns levels A1 ("Elementary Knowledge") and A2 ("Basic Knowledge"). The language user at these levels is characterized as a "Basic User".
