The perhaps most significant problem of modern man is the relationship with himself. It is a timeless yet complex issue that also includes the question of the person's ethics.

According to patristic thought, the "open" dialogue of a person with himself has the ability to heal the distorting reflections of the "I" in his spiritual life, as this is expressed within the community. Therefore, the more "open" a person is to listening to the concerns of his existence, the more he shapes his ethics.
