PREFACE
This selection from Bertini's four classical collections, Studies Op. 29, 32, 100, and 134, was made by Giuseppe Buonamici at the end of the last century.
Using the same material, with the same progressive classification, we have followed, regarding the editing, a criterion that minimizes excessive loading with too many indications: no excessive fingerings, no additions or alterations to the expressive markings, a return to the exceptional, authentic phrasing.
The metronomic indications, once again, have only the value of a suggestion. The musical quality of Bertini's studies is always very careful: some of them are indeed quite charming.
Moreover, although they are full of interesting and useful technical solutions, they are "cut" into measures that almost never force the performer to push dangerously or exhaust their muscular endurance.
