Description

Beyond the biographical details given to us by the anthologists of the Philokalia about the blessed Xanthopouloi, who were so beloved as one soul "in two bodies"—whom Saint Symeon of Thessaloniki calls "theogorous, theophorous, christophorous, and entheous"—we do not know much about their supernatural life. But the height of their holiness is felt through their divine words, erotically charged by the actions of the Holy Spirit. This is precisely why we do not know who excelled over the other, as the hundred Chapters are delivered as common fruits, where the "springing water" is spiritually felt in their sanctified hearts.
