In the hell of Makronisos, the human showed the darkest and the brightest side of him. The torturers became werewolves. The communists and all the fighters who "visited" the island and did not bend wrote pages of human History with their blood.

The play "On the Wire" is based on real events and situations. Some scenes are inspired by or adapted from descriptions that the author encountered while studying the books of people who, during the period 1947-1950, were "hosted for reformation" in Makronisos and provided their own testimonies.
