The Fourth Book of the Civil Code on Family Law has been subject to a series of modifications/reforms since 1982. The author has engaged with these reforms both in the comprehensive work "Family Law" and in a series of standalone studies. The entirety of this involvement, with numerous additions and some modifications, is presented in this volume.
It is evident – though it is not unnecessary to emphasize – that significant assistance was provided by other legal scholars, whether through systematic works, monographs, articles, and comments, or through court decisions. Without this support – which also served as a stimulus for scientific discussion and debate – any effort would likely have been ineffective.
This work examines Greek Family Law, aiming to present a system that, as far as possible, meets the needs of the theoretical researcher, the practical interpreter/practitioner, and the student. It is up to the reader to determine – with the understanding that characterizes them – whether this goal has been achieved.
The structure of this work follows that of the Handbook of Family Law, which – in a revised edition – has been in circulation since 1983. Extensive developments on the cohabitation agreement are included at the end, and issues related to it are also examined within the main text. The detailed alphabetical index makes the work more user-friendly.
