This code contains the Basic Legislation of Aviation Law and complements the series of the Commercial and Economic Law Sector, which includes the Basic Commercial Legislation (Vol. XIII). Aviation Law is a branch of Commercial Law.

Thus, in this code, we deemed it appropriate to include the most important pieces of legislation of Aviation Law, both public and private, such as the International Convention of Chicago (1947) for International Civil Aviation and the Aviation Law Code (Law 1815/1988), which, although outdated, is valid in conjunction with the Community Regulations on the liability of the carrier, which undoubtedly take precedence over domestic law and the Montreal Convention 1999.

A larger portion of this edition is occupied by the International Conventions and Community Regulations concerning the liability of the air carrier and the transport of passengers and baggage by aircraft. Included are the Warsaw Convention 1929 consolidated with all its modifying protocols, the Montreal Convention 1999 (Law 3006/2002) which both remain in effect simultaneously, Regulation (EC) 2027/1997 as amended by Regulation (EC) 889/2002, and Community Regulations concerning the protection of passenger rights during air transport of passengers and baggage, at international, union, and national levels.

All pieces of legislation are presented with their modern amendments and codifications that they have undergone, so that this code, with the most important "Legislation of Aviation Law," is useful and user-friendly for every student and for every lawyer in general.
