This book, developed in collaboration with the IB, explores the nature of knowledge through engaging material and activities relevant to students' experiences. The importance of TOK in everyday experience and individual knowledge is emphasized by studying cases and assignments that encourage awareness of multiple perspectives.

Structured around the new curriculum and conceptual framework, students will have a full opportunity to think critically about the complex issues of contemporary challenges. Each theme will stimulate questions about authority, politics, and technology, related to the changing nature of knowledge. All required Areas of Knowledge are analyzed with historical development and significant links to current practice. The central theme of "The Knower" is interwoven throughout the text and within its own thematic chapter.

Students will have the opportunity to practice TOK in each of the five themes, supporting an assessment that requires students to develop skills. The processes of assessment and the essay have separate chapters to guide students through each step, helping them to gain the most from the TOK course and transfer this knowledge throughout their lives.
