The book by St. Kalivas and N. Marantzidis Civil War Passions, featuring 23 questions and answers about the Civil War, received particular attention from the bourgeois media and has been recognized by bourgeois politicians. However, none of them told the readers that this book contains a plethora of lies and that it is a compendium of the distortion of historical events and the fabrication of "facts" that match the "new wave," the ideological current expressed by the authors.

This is a characteristic example of "progressive" historiography, which puts obstacles in the way of the workers' and people's movement, in order to prevent the extraction of useful conclusions from the 1940s regarding class struggle today. However, as emphasized by the History Department of the CC of the KKE, which edited this publication: "Every worker and every worker, every young woman and young man, who begins life in the jungle where the law of the exploiter prevails, can and has every interest in understanding, with the help of the KKE, the cause and objective of the ideological attack by the direct or indirect apologists of the exploitation of man by man.

They aim to strike at the class struggle today, in order to allow the strategy of capital to pass without risks for capitalist power.
