The "Memoirs" that Kolokotronis dictated to G. Tertsetis stand out as a treasure of language, patriotism, observation, simplicity, liveliness, and pure folk wisdom. Yet the state ignores them. It has never "thought" to inspire the minds and hearts of the youth by including them in our schools as one of the essential readings. For this "omission," which has no excuse, the responsibility lies heavily with those who direct our education.
