The insolvency law is gaining increasing importance. Firstly, in the short term (and perhaps medium term), because the international economic crisis creates the conditions for its frequent application. Since the economic crisis erupted, the largest - internationally - bankruptcies that the world has seen have been declared.

However, secondly and more long-term, because insolvency law is no longer just an alternative way to settle liabilities. It is a way to reorganize the business, a managerial way to restructure economic forces and resources.

This importance is highlighted by the introduction, in Greece and many other countries, of new legislation for bankruptcy. The new Bankruptcy Code (Law 3588/2007) is now the new tool for addressing corporate insolvency.

This book makes an effort to interpret the new law on bankruptcy, particularly the process of settlement, declaration, instruments, consequences, and assets of bankruptcy, corporate bankruptcy, bankruptcy operations, reorganization plan, liquidation of the debtor’s assets, and distribution of the liquidation proceeds to creditors, conclusion of bankruptcy, and rehabilitation of the debtor, bankruptcy of over-indebted households (Law 3869/2010), and international bankruptcy law.
