Nonin 8000AA/AP Oximetry Sensor

Classic oximetry sensors. The Nonin 8000Ax series of reusable sensors feature PureLight® technology, which, combined with Nonin PureSAT® signal processing, provides consistent and reliable results from patient to patient, even under the most adverse conditions such as movement or low perfusion.

• Adult Sensor 8000AA: For patients ≥ 30 kg.
• Pediatric Sensor 8000AP: For patients from 8 to 30 kg.

Accurate and reliable SpO2 measurements begin with PureLight® sensors. Nonin's PureLight oximetry sensors produce a high-intensity spectrum of pure light that eliminates variations in measurements from patient to patient and from sensor to sensor.

The red and infrared light sources (LEDs) are essential in pulse oximeter sensors. The red LED measures deoxygenated hemoglobin, while the infrared LED measures oxygenated hemoglobin. Common red LEDs often produce a second wavelength emission (contamination), which affects the measurement of oxygenated hemoglobin.

The contamination of the LED affects the calibration curve of the oximeter, resulting in inaccurate measurements at levels below 80%.
