The sources of red and infrared light (LEDs) are essential in pulse oximeter sensors:

• The red LED measures deoxygenated hemoglobin.
• The infrared LED measures oxygenated hemoglobin.

Contamination of the LED can affect the calibration curve of the oximeter, leading to inaccurate measurements at levels below 80%. The disposable sensors are ideal for continuous monitoring in situations where there is a risk of infection.

The 6000C series features breathable fabric for increased patient comfort and is made from elastic fabric material for easy placement:
