Παρόλα αυτά η χρήση της δεν συνίσταται για όσους μπορούν να φοράνε ιατρικές, καθώς το συνθετικό ύφασμα που χρησιμοποιείται έχει μικρό πυκνότητα σε ίνες, όπως φαίνεται και στην φώτο με αποτέλεσμα να περνάνε τα αερολύματα (aerosol), αλλά όχι τα σταγονίδια.
