Description

In 1980, Michalis Ch. Fotopoulos along with his wife Maria Fotopoulou started cautiously as amateurs with five beehives in their backyard in Acritohori, Messinia. They produced honey for their family's needs and to share with relatives and friends.

By 1983, the five beehives had grown to 200 and were moved to the wider area of Messinian Mani and the mountains of Taygetus. Their son Charalampos Fotopoulos took over the business in 1994 after attending training seminars in beekeeping.

Fotopoulos Beekeeping "Taygetus Honey" has been certified with ISO 22000:2005 for the production, packaging, and trade of beekeeping products.
