The product was purchased as a replacement for a (much) older one, from which the mesh detached from the rim after so many years. However, upon receiving the new one and comparing it with the old one, this one (the new one) seems less durable, mainly in the joint and the strength of the handle. It does not seem durable enough to strain something heavier than sifting flour, for example to strain boiled greens. I suspect this is probably due to the absence of a solid metal ring that other models have (as did the old one, though I did not consider it important), which makes the handle somewhat more "flexible" under weight during use. I hope I am proven wrong.
If you use it often and for (somewhat) heavier straining, I would recommend another one (and if it is financially worthwhile for you, of course). For light use, e.g. sifting flour, etc., I believe it is fine.

Very durable and quite large! I use it to strain the vegetables that have come out of the blender to drink their juice. It has a very fine sieve and nothing passes through.
