The range is not its strong point, at least in my case (two-story house). The Asus DSL-AC88U is much more powerful, although not stable at all.
Other than that, after 2 months of use, I have nothing to complain about.
Oh, and don't buy the ASUS. It's an expensive disappointment.

Well, I bought a second one to create a mesh network. It works perfectly! I placed the second one in a spot where the signal of the main router was weak. One floor above and at a distance of about 10m in a straight line with wall interference. I didn't expect it to work. But it does. In the speedtest, I have a loss of around 10-15% compared to measurements on the main router. I recommend it.

Ok, Huawei is a very good company, pioneering in new technologies, and in this logic I bought it for a client of mine (with the purpose of testing it and adding 2-3 more for coverage expansion). WiFi 6 at this price, simply doesn't work at this time (5/2021). BUT: the router will be returned immediately because it doesn't have even the basic settings that a router should have or at least an AP (e.g. if you want it only for WiFi while keeping your existing router that already runs DHCP, the function is NOT supported). Its menu is the poorest and most limited I have ever seen in my life (I have been a network technician for 20 years). You can't simply work with it as an AP, the mesh has many limitations and prerequisites to work properly, it doesn't support DHCP relay, no QoS, the NAT is terrible, and many others. Huawei's forum is full of complaints from users about non-existent, limited, or poorly implemented settings in its menu but because I was in a hurry and didn't do thorough research, I believed it was just the "whining" of "strange" users (I should have been more careful).

The range-speed of its WiFi is inferior compared to most aftermarket and cheaper routers (e.g. the 8-year-old tplink that I wanted to replace, or the budget Ubiquiti). Its build quality and plastics are laughable (but ok, you touch it somewhere and forget about it - as long as it doesn't fall off the shelf because I don't know if it will survive), and it also overheats excessively.

Failed product, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for any reason - especially with the alternatives that exist. I don't like that I negatively judge this specific router because it may suit or satisfy the needs of some people while not for others. But here we are not talking about something that "didn't work for me". We are talking about a wrong product that shouldn't exist in the market.

The range is not its strong point, at least in my case (two-story house). The Asus DSL-AC88U is much more powerful, although not stable at all.
Other than that, after 2 months of use, I have nothing to complain about.
Oh, and don't buy the ASUS. It's an expensive disappointment.

Well, I bought a second one to create a mesh network. It works perfectly! I placed the second one in a spot where the signal of the main router was weak. One floor above and at a distance of about 10m in a straight line with wall interference. I didn't expect it to work. But it does. In the speedtest, I have a loss of around 10-15% compared to measurements on the main router. I recommend it.

Ok, Huawei is a very good company, pioneering in new technologies, and in this logic I bought it for a client of mine (with the purpose of testing it and adding 2-3 more for coverage expansion). WiFi 6 at this price, simply doesn't work at this time (5/2021). BUT: the router will be returned immediately because it doesn't have even the basic settings that a router should have or at least an AP (e.g. if you want it only for WiFi while keeping your existing router that already runs DHCP, the function is NOT supported). Its menu is the poorest and most limited I have ever seen in my life (I have been a network technician for 20 years). You can't simply work with it as an AP, the mesh has many limitations and prerequisites to work properly, it doesn't support DHCP relay, no QoS, the NAT is terrible, and many others. Huawei's forum is full of complaints from users about non-existent, limited, or poorly implemented settings in its menu but because I was in a hurry and didn't do thorough research, I believed it was just the "whining" of "strange" users (I should have been more careful).

The range-speed of its WiFi is inferior compared to most aftermarket and cheaper routers (e.g. the 8-year-old tplink that I wanted to replace, or the budget Ubiquiti). Its build quality and plastics are laughable (but ok, you touch it somewhere and forget about it - as long as it doesn't fall off the shelf because I don't know if it will survive), and it also overheats excessively.

Failed product, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for any reason - especially with the alternatives that exist. I don't like that I negatively judge this specific router because it may suit or satisfy the needs of some people while not for others. But here we are not talking about something that "didn't work for me". We are talking about a wrong product that shouldn't exist in the market.
