I received it today, having seen on the Xiaomi Home app that it can be connected. I read some comments mentioning that the Xiaomi hub could not detect it and that you had to change the region in the app and reinstall/connect all devices from scratch (with the risk of losing or breaking some automations). I hoped I wouldn’t be one of the unlucky ones.
So, I tried to connect the sensor and as soon as I select it from the app, I get a shock because it says it’s not compatible. However, there is a fairly easy way without needing to change the region. You choose to connect the Xiaomi sensor (the first on the list), the process appears where you have to press the only button on the sensor, and as if by magic, the sensor connected.
Unexpected.
Conclusions:
- The measurements are accurate (which is not the case with the other Xiaomi smart devices I have)
- The size is quite small (I was disappointed at first) but in the end, it’s an advantage because you can really place it anywhere you want (if you don’t want to stick it) without taking up space or standing out.
- You need a hub and the app to see temperature, humidity, and pressure! (I haven’t cross-checked the measurements) but you know this before you buy it.
- It worked perfectly with the automations of my smart home, which consists entirely of Xiaomi devices.
I will buy one for every room in the house.
