Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Users rate the enclosure positively, mainly praising its quiet operation and convenient support for up to four drives with a fast USB 3.0 connection. They also mention its high-quality metal construction, adjustable fan, and the ability to hot-swap drives and put them to sleep. However, there are occasional reports of USB connection problems and some reservations about how it works.

Perfect! One tip... Keep the interface button pressed continuously because it turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity. For those who haven't found it yet. The construction is high quality and worth every penny.
Also, it's great that it puts unused hard drives in sleep mode, in case you only use one.
It doesn't heat up at all and I have the fan as my first choice. And it has 2 more powerful ones.
For 2 months now, I have been decluttering my PC from 4 HDDs of 4TB each that were working daily!
I only use it to retrieve files that I will work on and for backup purposes!
I keep it disconnected from the USB all the time and only connect it when needed. Its connection is fast and stable, but its main advantage is the following: as soon as I disconnect the USB, it secures the disk heads and powers off in half a minute!!
Basically, it extends the lifespan of the disks!!
Update 24-1-2022
Unfortunately, my computers no longer recognize it as a USB 3.0 when connected.
(Yes, I tried it on 3 computers to make sure)
It simply functions as a USB 2.0, and the transfers of large files are dramatically delayed!
I am completely disappointed!!!
I ordered and received it in August 2025. Although the photo shows version 1, I received version 3. The differences are mostly in the plastics, since the hardware inside is the same (JMicron controller).
For those who don't know, this model is a USB dock with 4 slots, meaning you can insert up to 4 SATA drives and the operating system sees them via USB 3.0. For RAID capabilities, you need to go for the larger model IB-RD3640SU3.
It came in careful packaging but when I opened it, I found a screw (!) swimming inside the box. I turned it upside down and a spare screw came out, which (theoretically) supports the board to the plastic chassis. I'll let that pass.
I read the user manual (available in English and German), installed 4x 6TB Ironwolf Pro drives and it recognized them normally. I disabled Sleep with the Interface button and left the fan on auto. As soon as the drives heat up, the fan goes up a level (Min - Medium - Max).
At first, I used it on Windows and even set up a RAID which worked fine. Then I added it to Proxmox 9, passed the drives to a NAS VM and set up a RAID there. It works fine without any problems, its performance is good and overall I am happy.
If I have to find something wrong, it would be the relatively small fan which, with my drives that heat up easily, when set to auto, almost immediately goes to the 3rd level, resulting in it being audible in the house. In an office, I don't think it would be very noticeable, but in a quiet home, unfortunately, I can hear it. Also, the power supply is quite bulky for 60 Watts.
Finally, with 4 drives, it consumes a measured total of 45-50 Watts, which is reasonable if you consider that one drive needs 9-10 Watts.
For those who don't know, there is a model with 8 drive slots (IB-3680SU3), as well as one with RAID capabilities (IB-RD3680SU3)
Very good in all aspects. Quiet (with adjustable fan speed) and most importantly, real hot swap! I have installed 2 12TB drives, an 8TB drive, and a 4TB drive and it works perfectly. The drives can be inserted and removed without the need to disconnect from the operating system (although it is a very good practice to always do so). Implementation exactly the same as the German Fantec. I imagine it's the same Chinese manufacturer with a different label. I used a 2-drive docking station until recently, but quite often and mainly without any reason (forceful removal of the drive or power interruption, etc.) the drives would lose their contents and the partition would become RAW! Now, this is a bad memory and the docking station is in the closet!
Very good metal construction.
Adjustable fan speed and generally very quiet in terms of disk noise.
Very convenient when you have many disks and want to see them separately on your system, quiet and fast (usb3) served me great.
For its price (compared to other similar ones on the market), it is a very good solution for storage outside the tower. It can hold up to 4 x 3.5" hard drives, works perfectly with 4TB hard drives, and does not have RAID capabilities.
For someone who has high storage requirements and is looking for a solution for both always-on and on-demand use of the hard drives, it is an ideal solution.
Compared to having four external ones (which means a bunch of cables and four different power supplies for 3.5" drives), it is incomparable.
The downside is the way USB 3.0 works, as it completely spins down the hard drives after a certain period of time. So when you "request" something from them, you have to wait a few seconds for them to spin up, etc. However, this is not an issue specific to this product but rather a general issue with USB 3.0, I believe.
It can hold up to 5TB on each of its 4 disks.
Great value for money and quiet

Value for money και αθόρυβο
