Description

It is a book, one of the few available in Greece, that provides an in-depth analysis of each company examined in every chapter. This means that the various accounting topics discussed are not presented as "simple accounting facts" aimed at journal entries, but are connected to real-life situations, such as the company's personality, the industry it belongs to, and the thoughts of its Management in order to make decisions.

The student-reader has the opportunity to examine the financial statements of globally renowned companies. This is important because, in addition to accounting recognition, the organization of businesses plays a significant role in accounting. For this reason, many topics related to internal control and the safeguards that must be in place to protect companies from fraud, theft, and other malicious acts by their staff or management are examined.

At the same time, there are many references to the International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, which aim to protect all those in need of clear, timely, accurate, and honest accounting information to make financial decisions.

In this way, the presentation and analysis of accounting issues are not done abstractly but in relation to real companies and real data. Each chapter refers to a real company and provides a brief presentation of it. This is very important because the company has been chosen to serve the objectives of each chapter.

In each chapter, there are numerous solved and unsolved exercises and problems of varying degrees of difficulty. The exercises and problems can be addressed, as far as numerical calculations are concerned, with the help of Excel. The tables of each chapter are presented in Excel format. This leads the student-reader to utilize this modern information technology tool.

Another positive feature of the book is the presentation of accounting terminology at the end of each chapter in both Greek and English.
