The famous Scottish captain Harry Grant, in his attempt to establish a new colony in the Pacific, meets with a shipwreck. The captain's two young children decide to search for their missing father, and together with the reader, they traverse the entire Southern Hemisphere, experiencing great adventures in countries such as Patagonia, Australia, and New Zealand, and facing wild beasts, terrible earthquakes, and dangerous natives, in a journey filled with intense anxiety and action.
