Description

Inspector Petros Demertzis is on the Glyfada pier in front of a body eaten away by fish. Shortly afterwards, he will be notified about another burned body in a ravine on the road to Sounio.

When the inspector learns that both bodies are connected to the underworld, he assumes they are related to a settling of accounts. However, things become complicated when the inspector receives a visit from his corrupt politician uncle, who advises him to close the case quickly because there are "good people" who are disturbed.

Demertzis goes to investigate at the villa of the first victim, where he is approached by a strange and beautiful woman, the television journalist Natalia Borovitch. She tells him that the victim was her lover and that she intends to help him with valuable information, but she asks for something in return.

Demertzis, considering the case very important for his career, will accept her offer, not knowing that he is betting on an uncertain gamble of death. A crime novel with murders, intrigues, and political developments in Athens during the economic crisis, where nothing is exactly as it seems.
