1st edition: October 2020. This study attempts to shed light on a relatively unknown aspect of the Greek Revolution: the reactions and the way the Ottomans perceived and interpreted the national liberation movement of the Greeks.

It targets both a specialized audience and the general reader who wishes to better understand the upheavals and consequences of the Revolution as well as the subsequent establishment of the independent state within the Ottoman Empire.

Readers have the opportunity to follow the evolution of the events of the Revolution through the perspective of the Ottoman political elite of Constantinople, the chroniclers of the Porte, and the Ottoman officials from regions that were at the center of military conflicts.

The book aims to contribute to the highlighting of certain aspects of 1821 and to give a new impetus to historical research, through the "path of sobriety and reflection," elements that are a necessary prerequisite for understanding a major event such as the act of the creation of the Greek state.
