Published by IANOS, the book of Rena Kouveliotis, titled “Will you love me when I no longer remember you?” is now available. In this book, based on true events, the well-known journalist Rena Kouveliotis captures the daily struggle of a mother who decides to raise her child alone while simultaneously battling a serious brain health issue that leaves her with little time.
Childhood memories, truths, and emotions spring forth from her wounded soul and are expressed in an “alphabetical catalog of values” filled with exhortations and lessons for her beloved son, as she grapples with anxiety for his future when her memory will have “drawn the curtain.” A book that is a hymn to Love.
For all the years that followed, her life was only one word with five letters: “Love.” She spoke to her child before hearing the heartbeat steadily and persistently within her for the first time… Every phrase ended with an “I love you”… And no, she didn’t just love her little being… but the whole world, because it was in that world that her little human would be created and would live…
“The remedy, my child, for all misfortunes and calamities, wars, racism, sorrows, sufferings, and the sins of humanity is hidden in one word: “Love.” This is the divine drive that not only creates but also renews life; that gives each of us the strength to perform miracles if and when we truly desire it.”
