The 12 Gb/s SAS offers up to double the data transfer rates compared to 6 Gb/s SAS solutions, enabling the SAS infrastructure to provide bandwidth that can fully leverage PCI Express 3.0 with a single controller card. The MegaRAID SAS 9361-8i controller, with eight internal ports, features two 1.2 GHz PowerPC processor cores and a 72-bit DDR3 interface that powers 2 GB of cache memory.

Powered by the SAS3108 RAID-on-Chip (ROC), the 9361-8i controller includes PCI Express 3.0 and 12 Gb/s SAS technology, helping users to support increased hard disk drive (HDD) scalability and maximize the performance advantages of solid-state drives (SSDs).
