Description

The new book by Ioannis St. Papadopoulos is an exciting journey and documentation of numerous aspects of our contemporary reality, as well as a prime opportunity for discussion and reflection on the shortcomings of society and our daily lives. The same reality can have different facets. The approach to a topic, event, or problem from different perspectives allows for better handling and alternative solutions, essentially granting us freedom.

The short texts, accompanied by relevant photographs, all stemming from real events the author experienced directly or indirectly, provide certain examples for approaching events and situations from a perspective different from the usual. The interpretation (and conclusions) of the short stories described is not the only possible one. Each reader can derive their own interpretations and draw their own conclusions.

A peculiar trait of humanity is the impressive, individual construction of a reality, which each person possesses within themselves to survive. The more paths we take to approach reality (especially in the mental realm), the more we should expect to understand it. The texts were composed prior to the Covid-19 crisis, however, the thoughts expressed in the short stories are timeless and can be correlated with the unprecedented experiences humanity is facing. Nevertheless, two new texts have been added referencing today's experiences concerning the social impacts of Covid-19. Several photographs related to the mentioned events were utilized. All, with very few exceptions, come from the author's archive.
