The QNap QSW-M408-4C managed Layer 2 switch combines 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports with 4 10GbE SFP+/RJ45 combo ports for use in hybrid networks. It supports 10GbE and NBASE-T, with speeds of 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M, using existing Cat 5e and Cat 6a cables. It is managed through the QNAP Switch System (QSS), which provides an overview dashboard, port settings and a setup wizard.
Layer 2 features include LACP, VLAN, ACL and LLDP for bandwidth management and network control. The Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) supports network expansion and redundancy, as well as loop prevention. QSS also enables one-click firmware updates.
