The machine lasted almost 6 months with moderate use, until its problems started. I agree with the friend who wrote that it is a big scam, I regret buying it and if someone is reading this, they should find something else.
First of all, it seems to only work with Windows and not with anything else, so now on a Mac, there are no drivers and you can't use it properly. I'm trying to scan exams and it takes about 3 to 5 minutes per page!!!
Ink, in about 6 months and with moderate use, it stopped printing. Eventually, I decided to buy generic ink instead of Epson's since it seemed excessively expensive. As I have calculated, it costs the same as the printer itself and I don't know if this model is worth it financially. I bought the generic ink and it complains that it's not genuine, but fortunately it prints normally, maybe even better, I would say.
Then, scanning from the menu only works if you have the official application on your laptop, which limits me quite a bit. Copying to USB saves normally in PNG format, but when you want to print from the USB, it doesn't recognize the files because it only supports JPG!!!! So, the same file that you just scanned and saved to the USB, you CAN'T print it because the printer doesn't recognize it.
This feature killed me because I have to set it up on a computer and it doesn't work on either Linux or Mac, out-of-the-box, especially scanning on a Mac takes more than 30 minutes for 5 pages. Similar behavior on Windows.
Now, on Windows, it drains my soul every time I want to do something with the pop-ups, register, update, firmware update, software update, and generally it doesn't work if you don't have the official Epson application.
It has exhausted me and I'm saddened because it was recommended to me by someone and the trouble with this printer is enormous.
I needed color/ink to be able to make copies of medical exams and be able to print them, as I have a sick person in my family and I need to scan and print the exams at least once a month.
Το μηχάνημα σχεδόν κράτησε 6μήνες με πολύ μέτρια χρήση, μέχρι να ξεκινήσουν τα προβλήματα του. Συμφωνώ με τον φίλο που έγραψε μεγάλη απάτη, το έχω μετανιώσει κι αν διαβάζει κάποιος, ας βρει κάτι άλλο.
Για αρχή μοιάζει να μην παίζει με τίποτα άλλο παρά μόνο με windows έτσι τώρα σε mac, δεν υπάρχουν drivers και δεν μπορείς να το χρησιμοποιήσεις σωστά. Προσπαθώ να σκανάρω εξετάσεις και κάνει κοντά στα 3με 5λεπτά την σελίδα !!!!
Μελάνια, σε 6 μήνες περίπου κι όπως έγραψα με μέτρια χρήση, σταμάτησε να τυπώνει. Τελικά είπα να πάρω τα generic μελάνια κι όχι της Epson μιας και μου φάνηκαν υπερβολικά ακριβά. Όπως έχω υπολογίσει σε 2φορές, είναι η ίδια η αξία του εκτυπωτή και δεν ξέρω εάν οικονομικά αξίζει αυτό το μοντέλο. Πήρα τα generic μελάνια και μου γκρινιάζει πως δεν είναι γνήσια, αλλά ευτυχώς τυπώνει κανονικά ίσως και καλύτερα θα πω.
Μετά, scan από το menu, δεν παίζει παρά μόνο εάν έχεις την επίσημη εφαρμογή στο laptop , πράμα που με περιορίζει αρκετά. Copy σε USB αποθηκεύει κανονικά σε PNG αλλά όταν θέλεις να τυπώσεις από το USB δεν βλέπει τα αρχεία γιατί υποστηρίζει μόνο JPG !!!!!! δλδ το ίδιο αρχείο που μόλις σκάναρες κι αποθήκευσες στο USB, ΔΕΝ ΜΠΟΡΕΙΣ να το τυπώσεις γιατί δεν το αναγνωρίζει ο εκτυπωτής.
Αυτό το feature με σκότωσε διότι αναγκάζομαι να τον σετάρω σε υπολογιστή και δεν παίζει ούτε σε linux ούτε σε mac , out-of-the-box κι ειδικά το scan σε mac είναι θάνατος να περιμένεις για 5 σελίδες 30+ λεπτά
Παρόμοια συμπεριφορά σε windows.
Σε windows τώρα, μου βγάζει την ψυχή κάθε φορά που θέλω να κάνω μια δουλειά με τα popup, κάνε register, κάνε update, κάνε firmware update, kάνε software update και γενικά δεν παίζει έαν δεν έχεις την επίσημη εφαρμογή της epson.
Με έχει κουράσει και στεναχωρήθηκα διότι μου τον πρότεινε γνωστός και η ταλαιπωρία με τον συγκεκριμένο εκτυπωτή είναι τεράστια.
Χρειαζόμουν εγχρωμο/μελάνια για να μπορώ να παίρνω αντίγραφα από ιατρικές εξετάσεις και να μπορώ να τις τυπώνω μιας κι έχω ένα άρρωστο άτομο στην οικογένειά μου και χρειάζομαι μια φορά το μήνα τουλάχιστον να σκανάρω και να τυπώνω τις εξετάσεις.
