G3+ Blood Gas Cartridge iStat. The advanced technology of i-STAT blood gas cartridges optimizes traditional laboratory technology, incorporating many of the components found in complex laboratory control systems.
Each blood gas cartridge of the iStat analyzer contains chemically sensitive biosensors on a silicon chip that is designed to perform specific tests. To perform a test, 2 to 3 drops of blood are applied to a cartridge, which is then inserted into the i-STAT portable blood gas analyzer.
Before conducting each test, each cartridge activates a series of predefined quality control diagnostics, from monitoring the quality of the sample to validating the reagent.
