Erlikon Belinox electrodes are rutile, highly alloyed, and have a very low carbon content. They are intended for stabilized or non-stabilized 18 Cr/8 Ni chromium-nickel steels that are resistant to atmospheric corrosion, and remain resistant to intergranular corrosion at temperatures up to 350 °C.
They provide smooth welding, easy striking and restriking, a fine ripple pattern, and smooth joints, while the slag is easy to remove. They are also suitable for low-carbon chromium-nickel steels and stabilized titanium- and niobium-bearing chromium-nickel steels of the 18 Cr/8 Ni type, such as materials No. 1.4300, 1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4541, 1.4543, 1.4550, and AISI 302, 304, 304 L, 321, 347.
