The scientific production to date has primarily focused on issues of private law and from a systematic perspective, has largely constituted a subject of study within the history of law. Of course, there have been notable exceptions, in the context of special conferences or independent works (Trojan).
However, from the standpoint of criminal authority and the corresponding repression of criminal acts, from the occupation of Greece by the Romans (168, 146 BC) to the revolutionary constitutions (of the 1820s), criminal law, criminal procedure, corrections, investigative practices, and criminological approaches were solely products of foreign domination and mentality.
This study aims to highlight the criminal-legal spirit of the Greeks.
