The Sloth is an arboreal mammal known for its very slow movement, from which it gets its name, and which is reflected in its very low metabolism. It spends most of its life hanging upside down from the trees of South and Central America. Despite its traditional name, all sloths have three toes on their hind limbs, while the two-toed sloths have two on each front limb.
