The text by Myzam, written as a form of personal accountability, reveals traits of ethics and a sense of responsibility at heights unimaginable by our own standards, and serves as a model of an honest and sincere attempt to account for a significant historical experience.
This clearly adds to the credibility of all his claims. We are fully aware that under completely different circumstances and a century later, we share his thoughts with entirely different dispositions.
In the end, we feel that he comes to teach us something important that he probably did not have exactly in mind: the example he lived, influenced, and describes, grand as it is in terms of stakes, is in its realization an example not to be emulated, but to be avoided!
In other words, the famous aphorism by Kropotkin about the Bolsheviks applies here as well: "They showed us how a revolution should not be made."
