This book is a collection of individual experiential narratives about the Polytechnic Uprising (November 14-18, 1973). It consists of eighty-four transcriptions of oral testimonies-interviews with as many narrators, conducted from late 2010 to the autumn of 2020.
This is a systematic study of oral history based on overlapping criteria of representativeness regarding participation in the events, which includes testimonies from women and men, female and male students, unionists of the anti-dictatorship student movement, members of illegal organizations, high school students, workers, demonstrators who were injured by bullets, eyewitnesses, and military personnel.
The primary aim of the book is to serve as a body of information that will address some of the gaps in research surrounding the Polytechnic Uprising, while also contributing to the preservation of the memory of one of the most emblematic events in modern Greek history, which continues to be a subject of intense charges but also subject to various distortions and diverse revisions.
