I have owned more than 10 Battery back-ups of varying sizes so I am fully aware of how these are. I have two of this model and they give off a lot more fumes than I have ever experienced from any others. I currently have them in a Greek propery and I'm quite concerned that they mayl overheat in the summer when the temperatures are high. I've cycled them through a few "artificial" power outages and they do last long enough for me to do what I need to in a power outage but they shut-down very soon after the final warning beeps. Too soon for my liking.

Very good, I have connected it to a laboratory analyzer and a computer and it lasts quite a long time after a power outage

It has been installed on a server and a router that need to operate 24/7 for about 1 year. The battery lasts a reasonable amount of time and protects the systems. Satisfied with the product, of course there are also corresponding "lesser known" brands, I ended up with this one because of brand trust.

very sturdy, it kept me going through many blackouts
but in 2 recent ones it recently met my expectations
now I have connected to it: 1) pc 1000w psu, 2) pc 750w psu, 3) 4k samsung monitor, 4) creative blasterX katana v1 speakers, 5) occasionally ps5
6) 1080p asus monitor, and in general I am very satisfied and so far I haven't changed the battery and I even have a photo of today's run test without changing the battery yet
(hopefully nothing happens, knock on wood haha)

On the 10th day and during the first long power outage, the battery drained and never recharged again. The only positive is the immediate response from APC, which has already arranged for a replacement to be sent.

I bought it in December 2022. It was within its two-year warranty when it broke down. They replaced it with a new one. Two days ago, in December 2025, I came to the office and found it constantly whistling. I called the dealership and they told me that it has probably burned out. They also told me that even though this one also hasn't reached two years, it doesn't have a warranty because it follows the warranty of the original. If you want to throw away about 250€, buy it.

Good company but the new series, meaning this one, has a really bad smell, I don't know if it's the same for all but I bought 2 and both needed over a month outside on the balcony to get rid of the smell... unfortunately....

The previous generation didn't smell like this though, I don't know what's wrong....
They're not defective, for sure, it's something in the materials... It gets better after a while but until then... either you get used to it or put it somewhere it won't bother you...

Edit: 10.12.25 Refers to the 1200w, the smell doesn't go away even after 2 months so it's going back, waiting to see what will happen.

Edit 2: The small ups 520w I had from 8.24 gave up today, after 1 year and 4 months, I don't know if it's the battery or something else. It's within the 2-year warranty so we'll see.

Changing rating from 4 stars to 2 and we'll see.

APC has lost its old reliability, 3 different UPS units and 2 of them have broken down so far. Now we are waiting for the 3rd one.

It does its job properly. Mine broke exactly after 3.5 years, it doesn't even turn on anymore and it's very difficult to find technical support.

The nominal values are very far from the actual ones. More specifically, it cannot achieve the retention time for a load as specified. It only reaches 1/3.

Soon the batteries also broke down and needed replacement.

I had the BX 1400
after six years it gave out on me so I bought APC again
I will return with a rating even though they are consistently reliable workhorses

I bought it because I live in the countryside and we very often have issues with electricity. I have connected a gaming PC (850Watt), a 34" monitor as well as a second 16.1" monitor and LED lighting for my desk. In the event of a power outage, I get 13 minutes, which is more than enough time to shut down. The software is not very straightforward, but over time you understand the information it provides.

It smells during initial operation, an older one broke down relatively early and also the batteries do not last long. Of course, a screen would also be useful, especially if you don't connect it to a computer. The 2+2 sockets are convenient, the app could be better, at least to record the events.

This specific UPS is a compact construction, withstands the frequent power outages in my area, and is indeed from a company that makes everything durable and reliable.

Very good UPS, it will last about 30 minutes for a computer with a monitor, the software is also a positive aspect as it shuts down the computer smoothly when the battery is depleted and not like other UPS that feel like you are pulling it from the socket.

I connected the modem and the home cinema and it works perfectly. No issues with the smell as some others mention. It responds immediately to fluctuations in the power supply.

Reliability and protection. It has 4 socket outlets at the back and arranged in such a way that they can all be used simultaneously. It has a modern design and discreet lighting with a green color that offers a contemporary feel to the space. So far, with use on 3 printers and after a year of use, with several power outages, no problems.

I got 2 to keep the PC, phone system, and router very easy to install and activate, satisfactory operating time after a power loss to allow time to safely turn off the electronics

Very good battery backup / UPS 1200VA at €135 (BX1200MI-GR). I have bought 2 so far, the first one I have for 2 weeks. I use one for the network equipment (Cloud Gateway, Access Point, Router, etc.) and the other for a Synology NAS and a mini PC as a server.
I monitor it as a USB UPS through the NAS with the included USB cable.
Regarding the smell that some mention, I had no issue at all. It has the usual smell of a new electrical device in the first few days and it is barely noticeable, mainly in a small room.
I haven't tested how long it lasts, but for the few minutes I tested it, it seems to work well. Note that when the power goes out, it beeps periodically. Also, when it is in battery mode, there is a high-pitched hissing noise from the battery.
I highly recommend APC, especially this model for similar use.

very good tool especially in areas that have frequent power outages due to network under-voltage. I have a PC with a power supply of MAX 650W (with heavy usage it reaches up to 400W) and the batteries last up to 5 minutes. if the power goes out during simple use, they last up to 30 minutes depending on the age of the batteries. so far I have not replaced them. there is software from APC to see the status of the UPS. The green light it emits is very bright in the dark so you cover it with something and it's fine.

In a test at 15 minutes, with a load of a router, 16-port switch, recorder with three PoE cameras, it seems to be good, logically it lasts longer. The smell is present but it's not that annoying. There will be more tests and I will return with comments.

After exactly two years it stopped working and I opened it and saw the battery swollen just like the others.

I got this one after the recommendation of the company's IT, in the work environment with high temperatures they last 7 years +.

Stay away from this.. we had bought around 10 pieces for work, one for each computer, two of them were dead from the moment they arrived, the rest were okay (and the battery we put in another one didn’t work either). As for the others, after about a month, they started to sizzle claiming that the battery was going bad; we changed them, and after a while, around 2-3 months, it happened again. But the most important thing that you need to know if you get it is NEVER put anything on top of it! Do not cover it with anything; the external PLASTICS melt. We had placed one UPS on top of another, and the one underneath melted without us even noticing, and all this happened in 3 months. Never put anything on top of it; do not cover it with anything; their external plastics melt from the heat they emit!!! Not even an envelope on top of them, as it happened too. Also, the smell does exist in the beginning, but it goes away after a while.

Good, fast, quiet, only when it enters support mode you hear a light zzzzz, but it's not a big deal. The software is outdated, reminds me of an app for Windows XP.. but okay, you don't need anything special. It tells you how much battery time you have left with what you have connected to it. (APC POWER CHUTE - you can download it online). Every 2 to 3 years the battery gives out, you go to a battery shop in the neighborhood (I went to one with car batteries) and they put in new ones for 30-40 euros. All UPSs have this issue, it's not just this specific one..

Stay away from APC!
Purchased on 4/1/22, it crashed on 08/23.
It was under warranty so APC (Schneider) replaced it with a new one.
The new UPS did not last long, it crashed on 07/24 and there is no possibility of replacement because I am out of warranty (WARNING: the warranty for the new one they sent me counts from the purchase date of the first one, not from the replacement date)

Does what its meant for. Smells of plastic for a very long time. After months its plastic smell is still present

I bought the product and on the first day it gave me an error, something like "there is an error and you need to contact the manufacturer immediately". After about 2 weeks, it gave me the same message. I took a screenshot of the message, sent it to the Greek representative, and a replacement product arrived in a few days. The faulty one was picked up by a courier from home at no extra charge. Excellent customer-centric policy.
