  • Top-notch product, whether for adding incredible magnification to a macro lens for “Super Macro” situations, as Raynox describes it, or as a cheap alternative if you don’t have a macro lens, so you can start your journey into macro photography and discover whether this particular genre interests you without spending hundreds of euros on a macro lens. The only downside I found is that it adds a black ring around the edges of the photo; however, this may also be due to the lens I tested it with, which is Canon’s 18-55 IS STM, as this lens doesn’t zoom very much. (For the most correct use, according to the company, we use this filter with the lens set to maximum magnification/zoom.) Personally, this ring bothers me, so I don’t use it in my photos and prefer to crop, but I suppose others might like it as an effect. I’ve included photos below, all taken with a Canon EOS 250D and the lens I mentioned above. In these photos, you’ll also find examples with the ring so you can understand what I mean.
