It is indeed amusing, but it is also sad to see people in a gathering of various Greeks, such as Chians, Cretans, Albanians, Byzantines, Easterners, inhabitants of the Ionian Islands, and others, mixing Turkish words with others speaking Italian, Albanian, or corrupted languages, and in that same gathering, although all are Greeks, they cannot understand one another without the need for translation or explanation of the uttered words, so that the gathering turns into Babylon. This sad situation into which the Greek language has slipped, without wanting to dramatize, I aimed to make amusing, so that through humor, those who poorly pronounce the Greek language may educate themselves, and be encouraged to establish local schools for the education of their youth, rather than through reproaches and bitter reprimands, which would surely displease them. I do not intend to mock those presented on the Stage, but, as I said, to encourage the formation and dissemination of education.
This edition is printed in a modern format, easily readable and with comfortable pages so that it can be used by theater groups.
