The lid is quite useful as it keeps the temperature and grills evenly. Unfortunately, I made a small scratch with a plastic spatula, so I have been using silicone since then and everything is fine. There are some stains left after cleaning, but it's okay. Maybe they will come off with scrubbing, but I'm afraid of damaging it. For its price, which I consider economical, it does a great job. I recommend it!
